How does the suicidal impulse that both Romeo and Juliet exhibit relate to the overall theme of young love?

they are being extremly dramatic and over-the-top, which is something alot of young people do when they think they are in love.

It shows that they are totally in love but they are too imature to understand that there is more in life than love.

they don't understand that love isn't everything.

I think they are young and still have a lot to learn. They shouldn't have rushed things so much and should have come out and told everyone early on. THey've only known one another for a few days yet they're willing to die for each other. THey hardly know each other.

I think that if they took a little more thought in life they would relize death isn't the answer what if they would have been rich and famous or found other love they need to slow down a little bit and think of wat could happen

love is one word.. the word is pain. i mean love never seems to work out and if sucide seems to be the pain-free thing to do so if you love some one i guess and you know it wont work out cause your parents then maybe you should kill yourself so in another life or something like that.. then you guys could be together. lol ya that was pretty much a lie but some times people think that way! DONT THINK THAT WAY!

I think that Romeo and Juliet are too dramatic and immature to know that their love isn't worth killing themselves for.

This suicidal impulse shows that young love isn't very good. You should wait for the proper age to date. Suicide is not the answer if you don't get your way.

Most young people do not know what love is. They think they are in love until they get played or break up after a whole 3 days of "going out." Being young and being "in love" is a big step in life....and most the time people our age aren't ready....Romeo and Juliet can seem ready, but they most likely aren't.

i believe that they don't realize what exactly true love is....i think they have lust for each other. but then again love back then was completely different than it is today. They did used to get married at 14. I don't believe that suicide is the right way out of anything. I can understand if you feel that way because you care for them so much but i don't think you ever should.

I think them constantly saying that they wanted to kill them selves shows how naive they are and how young love just really doesn't work out especially when your doing it behind your parents back

They are too young to understand what love really is.

I really think we should take into consideration that they did actually get married at that age back then. Also parents decided who the children married.....is that true love?

young people get the idea from movies and stories and legends that when you meet you true love you soon die together as star crossed secret lovers
